2011 Fur Runway Report Day 1

Winter may be indifferent to New York Fashion Week, but everyone who’s gathered under the tents at Lincoln Center has responded to its unrelenting chill by making a fashion statement in fur. Looking impossibly chic, men and women braved the cold in sleek long coats or short plush jackets, fur scarves, hats and fur-lined boots. Inside, designers explored the versatility of this sumptuous fabrication. Indeed, the breadth and depth of fur on the runways is unprecedented, demonstrating that designers today recognize that fur is a “must” if they want to be a player in the luxury apparel market.
